We are pleased to announce that we will be opening our lottery for tuition-based Pre-K 4 at Southwest Elementary.
In order to be considered for the priority tuition for 2020 – 2021 school year you must have the necessary tasks completed by February 24, 2020.

Please be sure to indicate SOUTHWEST ELEMENTARY as the requested campus.
There are qualifying factors for enrollment in the state-mandated Pre-K program which include:
- A child with very limited English language proficiency
- A child who qualifies for free/reduced lunch
- A child with a homeless designation
- A child of active duty member of the armed forces
- A child of a member of the armed forces of the United States who was injured or killed while serving on active duty
- A child who currently is or has ever been in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services
Please note that families may choose to elect to participate in the tuition lottery process while waiting for a determination of one of these qualifying factors however please note your deposit of $275.00 is non-refundable if your child qualifies based on one the above qualifying factors. Testing is typically done in April after registration for those who answer another language other than English on the Home Language Survey.
Each family will be notified by Diana Perez with the AISD Early Childhood Department by March 13, 2020 with the results of the lottery process.
I would like to thank each family who has reached out to me individually. Also I wanted to recognize the hard work of the AISD Early Childhood Department, I believe I broke a world record in questions asked and each time they had an answer and a smile. Please understand we are opening this window early to accommodate many of your individual situations.
This process will determine our early childhood staffing thus it is essential that we get accurate and timely numbers.
