Dear Bear Creek Families,
Happy Summer Vacation! My hope is that each of you had a wonderfully relaxing Memorial Day Weekend. Today begins our Summer Schedule at Bear Creek. We are working behind the scenes to clean up from 2022-2023 and prepare for the 2023-2024 school year.
I would like to say a big thank you for making me feel welcomed. The past 3 weeks were a whirlwind. However, the opportunity to see the students and staff in motion was extremely beneficial. As life settles down a bit, I want to host a few opportunities to meet and greet those of you that I haven’t yet met.
On June 8th at 9:00 am, there will be a Meet and Greet in the Bear Creek Library. Please RSVP so that I know how many chairs to set up. There were a few of you that mentioned not having the chance to see my SlideDeck.
On June 8th at 5:30 pm, I will host the same Meet and Greet for any families unable to attend the morning session.
At 6:00 pm, I invite any and all to a Campus Exterior Clean Up. Push brooms, leaf blowers, trash bags, and a willing heart will help freshen up our outdoor spaces. Parents and students are welcome. Sadly enough, I also need some strong muscles to retrieve the outdoor learning furniture from the ravine. Prior to my arrival, someone accessed the Bear Creek Outdoor Learning Space and tossed numerous pieces of furniture down below. Any assistance in bringing the furniture back up to the outdoor classroom would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a RSVP Form for June 8th.
On Friday, there were several middle school students trying to access the primary grade playground behind the school. Due to damage to the playground areas, we will need to keep these spaces closed during the summer. Also, I was shocked to discover a few students on the roof! I don’t think they realized how large of a drop it is from their vantage point to the concrete below. Needless to say, my mother’s heart was mortified to see them so high off the ground and my brain proceeded to consider all of the what ifs. Please let me know if you see any activity on the playgrounds during the weekends as we strive to keep people and property safe.
Sincerely,
Theressa Engel
